Completion.
God completes what He starts. He started with you and He will be the finale.
Psalms chapter 32 verse 9.
Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that has to have a bit in it's mouth to keep it in line.
Our eyes wander, our thoughts wonder.
Frustration, anger, disappointment and failure all add to our grief. The job ahead sometimes looks to big for us to tackle. The job we are doing is exhausting and the end looks like it is to far away to finish. Someone says something about the work we are doing and what we have missed, now what?
There are many reasons for us to give up or not even begin trying. Age and our weakening bodies can be a big factor in attempting those unfinished jobs. Our thoughts do not stop, we just need to pace ourselves and adjust ourselves to the conditions of the times.
In Nehemiah chapter 4 the walls around Jerusalem are progressing bit by bit. When the locals heard about the work going on they threatened to attack and keep the city from being rebuilt. Verses 8 and 9 say, "They plotted to lead and army against Jerusalem to bring about riots and confusion. But we prayed to our God and guarded the city day and night to protect ourselves."
God is with those who do not hide when facing a challenge. First you know He is there. Then you talk to Him acknowledging who He is and that it is only by His power, His love and grace that your steps forward can happen. Then you ask for Him to be with you. To give you the knowledge, the understanding and the wisdom to think clearly, make the right decisions and to lead you along the right paths. And as you go forward, You make sure to stop and give Him the thanks He deserves. That is when you will be prepared for anything, strong in character, filled with His grace.
Hebrews chapter 12 verses 11-14 say, "Being punished is not enjoyable while it is happening---it hurts! But afterwards we can see the result, a quiet growth in grace and character. So take a new grip with your tired hands, stand firm on your shaky legs, and mark out a straight, smooth path for your feet so that those who follow you, though weak and lame, will not fall and hurt themselves, but become strong."
We are not to be afraid of what is going on around us. We are to walk those paths with God and Jesus, filled with the Holy Spirit. Nothing hidden, all open and innocent. Even though we face issues that have been faced before by others does not mean we will face them in the same manner.
Our issues are dealt with the best way we think they should be. We may gain insight from the experiences of others but we will still be learning with each step we take. So, the question remains. What thoughts are clogging your ability to see clearly the tasks ahead? And are those around you being affected by your progression?
In John chapter 6, Jesus tested the disciples asking them; "Can we buy bread to feed all these people?" With what little was available, Jesus gave thanks to God and everyone ate until full. Verse 14 says, "When the people realized what a great miracle had happened, they exclaimed; Surely, He is the prophet we have been expecting."
The only way for you to know the power of God is to ask for His help, expect Him to help you and then give Him the thanks and gratitude He deserves. You have issues to deal with, you are in trouble, you are exhausted and worn out.
All those other places you have tried were hit or miss in helping you. Problems came back sometimes worst than ever. Temptation and confusion led to added troubles. God wants you to give Him the praise for all that He does for you. So step up and ask Him. Do not be afraid or prideful, be yourself with all your sadness and watch as He helps you.
1Corinthians chapter 10 says, "All these things happened to them as examples---as object lessons to us---to warn us against doing the same things; they were written down so that we could read about them. So be careful. If you are thinking, "Oh, I would never behave like that"--- let this be a warning to you. For you too may fall into sin. But remember this---the wrong desires that come into your life are not anything new and different. Many others have faced exactly the same problems before you. And no temptation is irresistible. You can trust God to keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you cannot stand up against it, for He has promised this and will do what He says. He will show you how to escape temptations power so that you can bear up patiently against it."
I would not have believed it unless God did for me what He can do for you. My issues may have been different than yours but mine had brought me to a place where I was exhausted and alone. God heard my prayer and did for me more than I could have ever imagined possible. And He continues to be there with me in everything because I never give up on needing Him with me.
In John chapter 7, Jesus tells them, "For everyone who asks, receives. Anyone who seeks, finds. If only you will knock, the door will be opened."
In Acts chapter 2 the apostle Peter says, "Therefore I clearly state to everyone in Israel that God has made this Jesus you crucified to be the Lord, the Messiah!"
I asked God to help me and He gave me Jesus. I have been given peace of mind and an everlasting joy. A gift to great for words to explain, but a heart filled with love and thankfulness.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for filling us with contentment, completely trusting in Your will to be done. 😊
Ecclesiastes chapter 1 verses 8-11.
Everything is unutterably weary and tiresome. No matter how much we see, we are never satisfied; no matter how much we hear, we are not content. History merely repeats itself. Nothing is truly new; it has all been done or said before. What can you point to that is new? How do you know it did not exist long ages ago? We do not remember what happened in those former times, and in the future generations no one will remember what we have done back here.
Colossians chapter 1 verse 17.
Christ was before all else began and it is His power that holds everything together.
Hebrews chapter 4 verses 12 and 13.
For whatever God says to us is full of living power: it is sharper than the sharpest dagger, cutting swift and deep into our inner most thoughts and desires with all their parts, exposing us for what we really are. He knows about everyone, everywhere. Everything about us is bare and wide open to the all-seeing eyes of our living God; nothing can be hidden from Him to whom we must explain all that we have done.
Romans chapter 5 verses 1-5.
Now that we have been made right in God's sight by faith in His promises, we can have real peace with Him because of what Christ Jesus has done for us. For because of our faith, He has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials for we know that they are good for us---they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. Then when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love.
