Hold tight.

The rest of the crowd is not seeing what you are or hearing what you are. Jesus is here!

James chapter 1 verse 25.
If anyone keeps looking steadily into God's law for free men, he will not only remember it but he will do what it says, and God will greatly bless him in everything he does.

It is not easy to set aside your old ways and trust in God for everything.
Even if you read God's word daily, seeking his guidance. Even when you know that his promises are true and even when you see the results of living a life that is pleasing to Him. Temptation and desire are still there making you look, making you say things you shouldn't, making you do as you think is right and then finding out later that your straying ways, from God were wrong.
We are human and we have emotions, and desires, they play havoc with our thoughts, and are always trying to get us away from God. Jesus was tempted, yet He held His ground. It is by God's forgiveness and grace that we can have Jesus in our lives. By holding closely to God, by talking to Him and by being aware of His presence, you can turn your eyes away and you can control your spoken words and you can reflect the goodness of God.
In John chapter 14 verse 6 Jesus says, "I am the Way---yes, and the Truth and the Life. No one can get to the Father except by means of Me."
We have done our own thing for so long that it is hard to let someone else direct our paths. You have followed your own will power and it has led you to this point. The point where you are seeking God's help.
You have known of Him and you have avoided Him but the time has come when you can no longer do for yourself what it is that would make your life a happy one. Ok so we can make enough money to get all the stuff we want. We even think that by having lots of stuff and a good income that we are somebody who can stand on their own and be someone that others look up to.
How quickly we learn from our arrogance. Loving relationships are hard to find. Trust is held so close and not easily released. Death and heartache have left you sad and seeking something. You like it when someone does something for you with no expectations from you. You like it when you help others and they are appreciative of your help. You like to receive kindness and love but your guarded as to not get too close for hurt and disappointment do come.
Then comes hurtful words. Either you have spoken them or someone has said something that you did not like.
James chapter 1 says, "Happy is the man who does not give in and do wrong when he is tempted, for afterwards he will get as his reward the crown of life that God has promised those who love him."
We can change our ways, all we need is to agree that what we want is a gift from God. And at that point Jesus and the Holy Spirit will work through you.
Your trust needs to be gained, a trust that is fully and wonderfully accepted as a gift from God. Then not only will you see results but you will be living in the presence of God all the time.
In John chapter 10, Jesus says, "I have already told you and you don't believe Me. The proof is in the miracles I do in the name of My Father. But you do not believe Me because you are not of My flock. My sheep recognize My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish. No one shall snatch them away from Me, for My Father has given them to Me, and He is more powerful than anyone else, so no one can kidnap them from Me. I and the Father are one."
In Jeremiah chapter 6 we get a good example of how stubborn people can be. God never gives up and is always ready and willing to be there for who ever calls out to Him, seeking a life with Him.
Verses 16 and 17 say, "Yet the Lord pleads with you still: Ask where the good road is, the godly paths you used to walk in, in the days of long ago. Travel there, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, No that is not the road we want! I set watchmen over you who warned you: Listen for the sound of the trumpet! It will let you know when trouble comes. But you said, No! We will not pay any attention."
Hold on tightly to the Bible and the Word of God. Your joy in life depends upon it and every time you do what is right you will know the hand of God upon you. In fact His Holy Spirit is with you in all you do, and your amazement brings a tear to your eye as His love touches you.
Thank You Father for Jesus. We are never right, but You have given us Jesus as our way. Wahoo! 😊

James chapter 3 verse 5.
So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do.

James chapter 4 verses 2 and 3.
You want what you do not have, so you kill to get it. You long for what others have and can't afford it, so you start a fight to take it away from them. And yet the reason you do not have what you want is that you do not ask God for it. And even when you do ask you do not get it because your whole aim is wrong---you want only what will give you pleasure.

Deuteronomy chapter 30 verses 19 and 20.
Moses spoke to the people saying, "I call heaven and earth to witness against you that today I have set before you life or death, blessing or curse. Oh, that you would choose life; that you and your children might live! Choose to love the Lord your God and to obey Him and to cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days."
