His Purpose

The word written on the cup says, "Begin" It's time to call upon Jesus so that you can begin to understand the purpose He has for you.

Ephesians chapter 1 verse 5.
His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And He did this because He wanted to.

What has been your purpose in life? Do you even have a purpose? Do you even know what it means, to have a purpose?
With a purpose we have direction and confidence. A good example of this is following your own directives. If someone was to say "no" to you about something, would you still go ahead and do it anyway?
If you are told you cannot do something, do you still go ahead and do it? If someone tries to tell you that this is the way, are you satisfied or are you argumentative?  Are you a restless person? Can you get along with others and keep your opinions to yourself?
God is a way of life that is filled with love, peace and contentment. The only way He can offer this to us is through Jesus Christ. In Ephesians chapter 1 Paul says, "Now all praise to God for His wonderful kindness to us, and His favor that He has poured out upon us, because we belong to His dearly loved Son."
You may be someone who is rich and watches closely every step you take. You watch that no one takes away what you have worked hard to have. Or you maybe someone who is filled with anxieties, addictions and depression. You are always looking for something better, envious of others and angry at those who took advantage of you.
God is there for you. He doesn't want you to be always looking over your shoulder wondering, wandering or hiding away. He wants you to be seen. He wants you to be known as His child, where you live in gratitude and thanksgiving to Him. Matthew chapter 5 says, "You are the world's seasoning, to make it tolerable. If you lose your flavor, what will happen to the world? And you yourselves will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the world's light---a city on a hill, glowing in the night for all to see. Do not hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father."
Life with God is a life filled with joy. A joy that you are no longer alone but are welcome in His family. He see's you as His child. The child that has returned home. Who found his way home through Jesus Christ. And now God has marked us as belonging to Jesus Christ by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians chapter 1 verse 14 says, "Jesus Christ's presence within us is God's guarantee that He really will give us all that He promised; and the Spirit's seal upon us means that God has already purchased us and that He guarantees to bring us to Himself. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God."
God is the answer to your frustrations and concerns. In Ephesians chapter 1, Paul says that God's secret reason for sending Christ, a plan He decided on in mercy long ago; and this was His purpose: that when the time is ripe He will gather us all together from wherever we are---in heaven or on earth---to be with Him in Christ forever. Moreover, because of what Christ has done we have become gifts to God that He delights in, for as part of God's sovereign plan we were chosen from the beginning to be His, and all things happened just as He decided long ago. God's purpose in this was that we should praise God and give glory to Him for doing these mighty things for us."
We are all God's children and it has always been and always will be God's plan for us to praise Him because of His grace and mercies that He has shown upon us through Jesus Christ. Romans chapter 3 verses 23 and 24 say, "For we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior."
Jesus was born to a virgin. (Luke chapter 1). Joseph was engaged to be married to her and struggled to understand how she became pregnant. He was ready to break it all off when in a dream He found out the truth and understood that this was God's plan. Jesus knew and in Luke chapter 2 He said to His parents, "Why did you need to search for Me? Didn't you realize that I would be here at the Temple, in My Father's House?" His parents did not understand what He meant.
People may not fully understand who Jesus is and they can even be doubtful as to if He was real. He knew His purpose. In Luke chapter 4 Jesus returned to His hometown and filled with the Holy Spirit went to the synagogue where He spoke from the book of Isaiah. He read, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me; He has appointed Me to preach Good News to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted and to announce that captives shall be released and the blind shall see, that the downtrodden shall be freed from their oppressors, and that God is ready to give blessing to all who come to Him."
It goes on to say that after He closed the book, everyone was looking at Him intently and He added, "These Scriptures came true today!" The people liked His wonderful words, but wondered, "How can this be? Isn't this Joseph's son?"
Will people understand if you declare that Jesus has changed you and that you have found life with God? In Matthew chapter 13 Jesus said, "A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own country and among his own people!" And so He did only a few great miracles there, because of their unbelief.
It will be through your good deeds that others will see the reflection of Jesus. You will not be able to contain what has happened to you, for this new Light inside you wants to stand out in praise and worship. Your purpose will be seen as His. And you will know the paths upon which you want to walk.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for Your love and protection. You are our home everywhere we go. 😊

Romans chapter 8 verses 14-18.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. And we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like God's very own children, adopted into the bosom of His family, and calling Him, Father, Father. For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts, and tells us that we really are God's children. And since we are His children, we will share His treasures---for all God gives to His Son Jesus is now ours too. But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering. Yes what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later.

Isaiah chapter 52 verses 13-15 and Chapter54 verse 1.
God speaking through the prophet Isaiah said, "See , My Servant shall prosper: He shall be highly exalted. Yet many shall be amazed when they see Him---yes, even far-off  foreign nations and their kings; they shall stand dumbfounded, speechless in His presence. For they shall see and understand what they had not been told before. They shall see My Servant beaten and bloodied, so disfigured one would scarcely know it was a person standing there. So shall He cleanse many nations. But, Oh, How few believe it! Who will listen? To whom will God reveal His saving power?

Psalms chapter 56 verses 10-13.
I am trusting God---oh, praise His promises! I am not afraid of anything mere man can do to me! Yes, praise His promises. I will surely do what I have promised, Lord, and thank You for Your help. For You have saved me from death and my feet from slipping, so that I can walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

  1. I teach at a public high school. So many kids experience anxiety and depression, and I believe it is tied to lack of purpose (besides lack of human interaction because of technology). I enjoyed your blog and hope and pray you reach lots of beginners in the Lord. A while back, a blog reader asked me to come up with information he could use to hand out to new converts to Christ. I prayed about it and came up with these. https://nolongerlukewarm.com/printable-resources-for-new-christians/. Maybe they will be helpful here. Blessings!
