Vulnerable

You may have done something you should not have but Jesus has brought you before God and He is loving you.

Romans chapter 12 verses 1 and 2.
And so dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let the be a living sacrifice, holy---the kind He can accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is that too much to ask? Do not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how His ways will really satisfy you.

I read this morning that a person will cast out a dozen thoughts in the time it takes to do a task. Our minds work so fast. They compute a handful of scenarios in a matter of minutes. And yet mistakes get made, wrong words get spoken and we are left to clean up the mess.
We laugh, we do things that are inappropriate and hope that we do not offend others. Lots of people do not put any thought into their actions and end up in arguments, back peddling their words so that they can get out quickly from what has been opened. We are not perfect but we should try to get along with others and be aware of the things we talk about. That is not easy to do, because our thoughts are racing a mile a minute with thoughts of every type.
The fastest computer in the world cannot think as fast as the human mind can. The difference is it can pick and choose the right answers needed for the right situation faster than we can. It takes discipline and training to control what we do and think. Do you spend time on thinking about that?
God thoughts are always right and pure. He wants us to trust in Him so that He can work through us as we reflect His thoughts and actions. The result is our praise to Him, filled with the joy of Him being with us and the possibility that those around us may see and hear God though us.
But that does not mean we are not vulnerable. We are humans and we are not perfect. Our experiences have formed us. We get angry, we get frustrated, we get disappointed and sad. We also know what it means to feel love and our own desires can lead us in making regretful decisions.
Paul in Galatians chapter 5 verse 17 says, "For we naturally love to do the evil things that are just the opposite from the things that the Holy Spirit tells us to do; and the good things we want to do when the Spirit has His way with us are just the opposite of our natural desires. These two forces within us are constantly fighting each other to win control over us, and our wishes are never free from their pressures."
That is why it is important to seek after God all day long. Jesus did and that is what God wants from you. He wants your eyes and focus to be on Him so that you are strong enough to know right from wrong. God sent Jesus to us. We struggle, He shows us a welcoming Father who cares about you. We are to humble ourselves before Him and others.
Philippians chapter 2 verses 3-5 say, "Do not be selfish; do not live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Do not just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ."
It is a constant battle. I'm 63 years old and for some reason death has taken people that I knew. I know the joy of life that God brings to me everyday, but what sadness for those who have lost loved ones and find it hard to continue seeing God's love. We can be left vulnerable.
It is in our daily living that God shows Himself. Jesus faced death and He held tightly to His place in life with God. Our joy is in the accomplishments we do. That makes us and others happy. Sure sadness can hit us at any time. And yes, we do struggle with decisions. It is only in trusting God that we can be at peace with each day. Our joy is in God with us now and forever.
Don't let your thoughts overcome you, look to the Holy Spirit, talk with God and love Jesus. You can count on God to be with you always.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Where would we be if it was not for You? Thank You for Your grace, mercies and our thankful hearts. 😊

Ephesians chapter 3 verses 18-21.
May you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep and how high His love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God Himself. Now glory be to God who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of---infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts or hopes. May He be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of His master plan of salvation for the church through Jesus Christ.

Galatians chapter 5 verses 24 and 25.
Those who belong to Christ have nailed their natural evil desires to His cross and crucified them there. If we are living now by the Holy Spirit's power, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives.

Proverbs chapter 22 verse 17-19.
Listen to this wise advice; follow it closely, for it will do you good, and you can pass it on to others: "Trust in the Lord."
