A beautiful day!
Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verses 12 and 13.
So I conclude that, first, there is nothing better for a man than to be happy and to enjoy himself as along as he can; and second, that he should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of his labors, for these are gifts from God.
It is a spring day in May. The sun is shinning the birds are singing and people are out enjoying the perfect temperatures. There is lots of work to be done and it can be a little overwhelming to think about the planting and the digging and the bringing out of all the stored summer stuff. The washing of the windows and the repairs from the long winter months. The list is long but the beautiful day cannot be ignored.
Your puppy is out playing in the kiddy pool, fishing around for their toys, looking at you with wet faces and skinny legs. Someone else has their big cat out with them as they try to hang lights in the gazebo. The cat is playful and keeps getting tangled in the small ladder. Everyone is willing to say hello and people stop to converse, laugh and brush off the winter blues.
You try to ignore the mosquitoes and swarming black flies, their small bites make you scratch and you are constantly clearing them from your eyes and ears, they even get up your nose. You put on the head netting and wear long sleeves only to find they can bite right through them. Time to spray on the bug repellent. Bathe yourself in it. Awe the relief of being to enjoy that beautiful day.
You have a shower, washing off the dirt, and grime from the days work. You enjoy a nice meal, having a refreshing drink or two or three, replenishing and reviving your tired joints. The dishes are done, the animals have been fed and now a little television time, only to find it hard to keep the eyes open. You have had a good day filled with hard work, and fresh air. You deserve a restful sleep, long overdue.
Do you see the day as God's gift to you? Your aching bones and itchy bites may try to turn you away from another days work but you did accomplish things and you like what you did. With each step you take, you see a new development. Have you thanked God for the gifts of your day?
God makes everyday better. Ecclesiastes chapter 2 verses 24-26 say, "So I decided that there was nothing better for a man to do than to enjoy his food and drink and his job. Then I realized that even this pleasure is from the hand of God. For who can eat or enjoy apart from Him? For God gives those who please Him wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but if a sinner becomes wealthy, God takes the wealth away from him and gives it to those who please Him. So here, too, we see an example of foolishly chasing the wind."
Your energy is in the joy of what God gives to you. It's your love of doing things that makes you creative and your results lead you to praising Him. Maybe someone around you could use an extra hand or maybe a meal at just the right time. You never know where the conversation may take you. Maybe you will bring relief and a smile to someone or maybe they will leave you in a better place. God works through us to better our lives and the lives of others.
Isaiah chapter 49 verse 9 says, "Through you I am saying to the prisoners of darkness, Come out! I am giving you your freedom!"
You once were that prisoner of darkness, now you have found Jesus and He has brought you into His pastures to live. What's even more important is that you do not want or long to be anywhere else but with Him. That is why you smile and see each day as the one He has given to you and that no matter where you are or what you are doing He is there with you.
You have not left His pasture, you have been shown that the world around you and everyone in it are His. Yes, What a beautiful day it is! Psalms chapter 118 verse 24 says, "This is the day the Lord has made, lets rejoice and be glad in it."
Thank You Father for Jesus. It is through Jesus that we can have the joy of life with You. To worship and love You, is the beautiful day, today and everyday! 😊
Colossians chapter 3 verses 23 and 24.
Work hard and cheerfully at all you do, just as though you were working for the Lord and not merely for your masters, remembering that it is the Lord Christ who is going to pay you, giving you your full portion of all He owns. He is the one you are really working for.
Acts chapter 3 verses 19 and 20.
Now change your mind and attitude to God and turn to Him so He can cleanse away your sins and send you wonderful times of refreshment from the presence of the Lord and send Jesus your Messiah back to you again.
Psalms chapter 119 verse 108.
Accept my grateful thanks and teach me Your desires.
Just the other day, a few of us ladies were together saying how every EVERY day is truly a gift from God. Not just to enjoy but to be His hands and feet. A gift to be enjoyed but also to be utilized for His glory!
