The right thing!

We may be a bit crooked and age has weathered us a little but we're still standing, enjoying our time here. The right thing is knowing who you are. Jesus can show you.

Romans chapter 14 verse 22
You may know that there is nothing wrong with what you do, even from God's point of view, but keep it to yourself; do not flaunt your faith in front of others who might be hurt by it. In this situation, happy is the man who does not sin by doing what he knows is right.

There are many things that we want to do but do not do them for the sake of not irritating others. The person who can control themselves is a person who lives in harmony with everyone. In 2 Samuel chapter 6 King David was dancing and leaping in the streets of Jerusalem. It was a time for celebration, yet some thought the King was behaving foolishly, acting like a common pervert. He spoke back defending his actions by stating He was willing to act like a fool in order to show his joy for the Lord.
Just because we become Christ followers does not mean we become long faced, listening to sad music and attending church. We have every right to be filled with joy and happiness. To stand out as someone who has won the prize and beat the odds.
In 2 Samuel chapter 9 King David sought out any living relatives of King Saul and found Prince Jonathan's lame son who lived in fear of being killed by the King. Yet David showed him love instead of hate and the son's reply was; "Should the king show kindness to a dead dog like me?"
Who doesn't like to get something new, or see the look on someone's face when given a gift? You can be the kindest person and still feel empty. It would be nice if everyday was a happy one and yet, there is always going to be another day and it may not be any better than the day you just went through.
There are many who would tell you that happiness has to be gained and created. Wow! That sounds like a lot of work to me. Is happiness in the joke you just heard? Is it in the people you know? Is it your accomplished goals? What is it that you are looking for?  You just want to make sense of it all and really enjoy the time you have. And that can cause us to take risks.
God offers to help us, but we need to ask for His help and that can be a problem. It is hard to humble yourself before someone and ask for their help. Yet if you do not ask then you will not receive. Not just that but when you do ask and they do help you, you need to be ready to accept what they give. Watch out now, keep your guard up, for you may get more than you were looking for.
God does not work the way the world does. He is there to help you, just as much as you want His help. And it is in that time of receiving His love, that we are grateful. And that leaves us in a situation of maybe asking again. What could it hurt? He was faithful to us and His promises were smack on.
So you ask again and once again you are thankful. There is no hidden agenda, there is not secret motives, just honesty and truthfulness. Maybe your friends or family will not understand, but you know that you asked and He replied. Awesome! What are you expected to do with such an amazing find?
You try to keep it to yourself but that is hard to do because of His blessings and your joy. You do not want to force anyone else to accept what you know, so you do your best to get along with all people no matter how they feel or think. You have done the right thing and it shows.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for being our place of refuge, for even keeping us from getting into trouble. 😊

Psalms chapter 32 verse 8.
I will instruct you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress.

Proverbs chapter 20 verse 24.
Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?

Psalms chapter 147 verse 11.
But God's joy is in those who reverence Him, those who expect Him to be loving and kind.

Revelation chapter 3 verse 20.
"Look! I have been standing at the door and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears Me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with Me."

Ephesians chapter 5 verses 1 and 2.
Follow God's example in everything you do just as a much loved child imitates his father. Be full of love for others, following the example of Christ who loved you and gave Himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased, for Christ's love for you was like sweet perfume to Him.
