To be new again.

Once what was rusted and worn can be restored and made new. Jesus can help you!

Isaiah chapter 49 verses 16 and 17.
See, I have tattooed your name upon My palm and ever before me is a picture of Jerusalem's walls in ruins. Soon your rebuilders shall come and chase away all those destroying you.

You once were young with no problems to contend with. As we age we get involved in the pressures of life. It would be great if we could forever have healthy bodies and no worries but that does not happen.
What does happen is what was once beautiful becomes worn from neglect. Unless we work hard to maintain what has been given to us then we will be restless and uncomfortable. Even then things still happen that we did not see coming. They can cause added pressure making us forget what we are supposed to be doing.
The choices we make will either energize us or leave us in total disarray. We cannot help how we feel and we cannot help how others treat us, but we can be aware of the obvious and that is us. We are still alive and breathing. Maybe you have let the pressures of life build and maybe you have let yourself go a bit. Maybe you feel like a lost cause.
You wish things could go back to what they were before. You long for some miracle to happen. So, you try to brush off the dirt only to find rust. It means more work but you want to be better. So you scrape off the rust only to find a hole. It seems like such a long tedious job. Years of abuse have taken their toll.
You ponder your options and then ponder some more. The rust is returning and the hole is getting bigger. You are working hard yet what you seem to be doing is not enough. Your frustrated and depressed. You know the answers but you do not want to go that route because you are not sure how. Why can't someone come along and do all the work for you?
So more time passes. The area is looking rougher, you are now well aware of what is happening. The bright shinny object that once was, is now a distant memory. Maybe it's too far gone and you might as well just accept the fact that it is going to age and rot away. Sometimes you want that to happen sooner than later, that way you will not have to deal with it anymore. You do not like seeing what is happening and you know that it is not going to get any better unless you do something about it.
You have tried just about everything you know and can afford to do. There must be something, it cannot just wither away. Not noticed, not cared about, always sad and unattended. You know it happens to others, yet they are not you. You are responsible for yourself, no one is going to take care of you, there is not going to be any miraculous miracle.
You envy what others have and wish your life could be like theirs. But that is only a wish, no one is going to help you but yourself. Or is that true? When you read the bible you find out that their problems were the same as yours. You learn about who God is and how in the beginning He created all the things to be shinny and new. He also had to watch, as what He created, turned away from Him only to try and do things as they saw fit. You will also read about Jesus and how much God loves people.
It says that no matter how far we have let our lives go. No matter how rusty and worn they have become He can give us new purpose and energy. So, what does that mean for you? It means there is hope! You do not know what He can do for you unless you ask Him? You have tried all other remedies, to no avail, but now there is another and what have you got to loose? He promises to protect you and help you find your way.
In Acts chapter 3 God talks about Jesus and how the things that were done to Him were done out of ignorance. But it was God who was fulfilling His plan of salvation for all people. And now it is possible for people to change their minds and attitudes towards God, so that He can cleanse their sins and send into them wonderful times of refreshment from the presence of the Lord and send Jesus your Messiah back to you again.
You can keep trying and failing or you can turn to God who has always been there. He has made it possible for Jesus to be the filler that binds the damage and restores the finish to new again. Stop over looking Him and take hold of what is right in front of you. You are not too far gone. You have every reason imaginable to enjoy yourself.
It may take time to become fully restored, but it will take time for the damage was great. Bit by bit you like what you see. You can't believe it. You have tried for so long and all it took was talking to God and asking Him to send Jesus. It is seen in your smile. It is seen in your want for more. You, who thought that the mistakes were unforgivable, that you would have to live with who you are and deal with everything as you grab from the bag of cures.
Now you have a story to tell. One that is very similar to the stories of the bible, but totally about you and your restoration.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You Jesus for being the answers that were needed. 😊

We can make our plans, but the final outcome is in God's hands.

We toss the coin, but it is the Lord who controls it's decision.

He says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

1 Kings chapter 19 verses 27-30.
Elijah began mocking them; "You'll have to shout louder than that," he scoffed, "to catch the attention of your god! Perhaps he is talking to someone or is sitting on the toilet or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be awakened!"
So they shouted louder and, as was their custom, cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out. They raved all afternoon until the time of evening sacrifices, but there was no reply, no voice, no answer.
Elijah called to the people, "Come over here."
