To Be Humble

Another day, more attitudes, so many expectations, so many concerns. Start with Jesus, meet with Jesus and let His words humble your heart.

Ephesians chapter 3 verses 16 and 17.
That out of His glorious, unlimited resources He will give you the mighty inner strengthening of His Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in Him.

There is so much to grumble about. You are not getting your way! Maybe you are someone who does not have the patience to wait to have the things you want. Or maybe you have waited patiently, and still the things have not come.
You want that new thing and you have the money to get it. But you cannot find it available just as you would like it to be. Or you want that new thing but the bills need to be paid, so you decide to go into debt to get what you want. You tell yourself you will pay it back, but then along comes another thing you want and so you go further in debt telling yourself, it's ok.
Maybe you want it so bad that you are willing to ignore the worries of others. Those who try to tell you, out of love for you, that you should not get it right now. But you want it and decide to ignore them. Even as a Christian, the desire to have stuff is overwhelming. You have failed so many times and you are faithful in prayer, tithing and giving to help others, yet when you want that thing, you get it by any means possible.
God is there when you call out to Him. He knows your needs and watches as you speak to Him with such concerning need to have something. Maybe your life was a mess, a total mess. To the point of no return and you decided that maybe this God guy can help you, so you call out to Him and say something like; "If you are real" and then you continue with your request. You watch as He lifts you up out of your mess and places your feet on solid ground.
And now that you have salvation, you think it would be nice to have a bit more. Maybe a loving spouse who thinks as you do. Maybe a faithful child who is not rebellious. Maye a good job and a nice home. Maybe good health to enjoy your new found provisions. You are thankful to God for Jesus and His blessings and mercies upon you. The only thing is......What about the thing I'm asking You for?
I want it! I would like it now! I am asking You. I have trusted You before and You delivered. I'll keep on asking and hopefully He will give me what I want.
Are your thoughts in the right place? Are they on the the things you need or are they on truly being thankful to Him for the life you have. He did something to you that you never would have thought possible and He has continued to provide for you. Loving you because you are putting Him first place in your life. We know what He has done for us and yet we want more.
It is ok to ask God for things. It is ok to have dreams and expectations. But don't allow them to block you from seeing God. Start each day with prayer's of thanksgiving. Ask Him to guide you through your day. Ask Him to give you the right words to speak and to protect you from temptations. Ask Him to show you others and their needs and be bold enough to stand out, with just what they need to hear so that they may come to know Him also. You can ask Him for that thing you want, but when you do ask Him, realize that it is God you are speaking to and it is only through Jesus that He hears you. He deserves your constant love, respect and praise for His mercies and grace upon you.
Maybe you will meet someone who needs Jesus. Maybe you will be blown away by what He gives you, knowing that it could only have come from Him and His love for you. By focusing on Jesus you will find the right paths to walk upon. Be humbled with the Holy Spirit. Only He can calm a restless heart.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for Your plan and for everlasting life with Jesus. 😊

John chapter 4 verse 10.
Jesus replied, "If you only knew what a wonderful gift God has for you, and who I am, you would ask Me for some living water!"

Ephesians chapter 6 verse 19.
Pray for me, too, and ask God to give me the right words as I boldly tell others about the Lord.

1 Corinthians chapter 9 verses 22 and 23.
When I am with those whose consciences bother them easily, I do not act as though I know it all and don't say they are foolish; the result is that they are willing to let me help them. Yes, whatever a person is like, I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ and let Christ save him. I do this to get the Gospel to them and also for the blessing I receive when I see them come to Christ.

Deuteronomy chapter 8 verse 3.
He did it to help you realize that food is not everything, and that real life comes by obeying every command of God.

Romans chapter 8 verses 15 and 17.
And so we should not be like cringing, fearful slaves, but we should behave like God's very own children, adopted into the bosom of His family, and calling to Him, "Father, Father." For His Holy Spirit speaks to us deep in our hearts, and tells us that we really are His children. And since we are His children, we will share His treasures---for all God gives to His Son Jesus is now ours too! But if we are to share His glory, we must also share His suffering.

Hebrews chapter 7 verses 20-22.
God took an oath that Christ would always be a Priest, although He never said that of other priests. Only to Christ He said, "The Lord has sworn and will never change His mind: You are a Priest forever, with the rank of Melchizedek. Because of God's oath, Christ can guarantee forever the success of this new and better arrangement.
