Bewildered Astonishment!

All you can do is stand there amazed. You ponder knowing that God has just answered your prayer!

 Luke chapter 1 verses 34 and 35.
Mary asked the angel, "But how can I have a baby? I am still a virgin."
The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of God shall overshadow you; so the baby born to you will be utterly holy---the Son of God."

You can only imagine the bewildered astonishment of Mary and the shepherds. They were not doing anything that warranted them a visit from angels. They had not called upon God for help and they certainly did not expect what happened.
It is the same with us. We may not have a physical visit from angels, but we sure are filled with bewildered astonishment when Jesus touches our lives. The shepherds may have had an encounter that warmed their hearts and filled their thoughts with hopeful joy. And then to experience what they had heard, come true.
The same is with those who have their hearts touched by the hopeful joy of God's promises. It is a praise and song that comes to us because we get to experience God's love, only made possible by Jesus, the Son of God.
It is a gift. A gift from an unseen, untouchable Father who can make joy come to your heart. Everyone just goes through each day doing what ever it is they do and then doing it all again and again adapting to the changes and challenges of life. Happiness comes and goes. Troubles will affect us. Do you just want to live and then die?
If you want to get out from under something that grips you, if you want something completely different, if you seek change and want to know what real love is, then God wants you to know Jesus! Jesus is the gift of God made possible to you and I.
Will your eye opening experience be as awesome as Mary's and the shepherds encounter were? Only you will know. No matter your encounter with Jesus you will know that it is God who has answered you. You may be apprehensive to call out to Him, you may have doubts about what you are doing, but you are seeking Him and His help.
It could be the skies being filled with angels, it could be a wrestling match with God, it could be a quiet whisper you hear, it may be an idea you have as to what to speak out to someone, or it may be the confidence you need to face a situation. It will be something that you never saw coming and needed at just the right time.
You have called out to God because you are hoping for some unseen miracle to happen and guess what, it does. That is the moment of bewildered astonishment. It is the wonderful feeling you have of thanksgiving. It is God's gift to you, through His Son Jesus.
Like the stories of the Old Testament or the amazing stories of Jesus in the New Testament, your experience like theirs is one of faith. You called out because of something you may have heard or read in the hope of His love and understanding.
Thank you Father for Jesus and for Your needed love at just the right time. We may not see it coming but when it does happen, Wow! A Bewildered Astonishment of understanding we never thought possible. 😊

2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 6.
For God , who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made us understand that it is the brightness of His glory that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

Luke chapter 2 verses 9 and 10.
Suddenly an angel appeared among them, and the landscape shone bright with the glory of the Lord. The shepherds were badly frightened, but the angel reassured them. "Do not be afraid!" he said, I bring you the most joyful news ever announced and it is for everyone!

Luke chapter 2 verse 13.
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others---the armies of heaven---praising God: "Glory to God in the highest heaven," they sang, "and peace on earth for all those pleasing Him."

Luke chapter 2 verse 20.
Then the shepherds went back again to their fields and flocks, praising God for the visit of the angels and because they had seen the child, just as the angel had told them.
