Don't overlook whats right in front of you.

Proverbs chapter 3 verses 1-6.
"My son, never forget the things I have taught you. If you want a long and satisfying life, closely follow My instructions. Never forget to be truthful and kind. Hold these virtues tightly. Write them deep within your heart. If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgement and common sense, then trust in the Lord completely; don't ever trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success."

In our youth we learn quickly what it means to have friends and to be part of social gatherings. Laughing and having fun. We also learn who will be the closest friends, the ones who listen to us and care about what is happening in our lives. The same is given in return. For those who show compassion to others also give out compassion.
That is all good and true but does it really happen? If you are lucky enough to have a close friend for life then that is something to be treasured. In most cases our so called closest friends find other interests brought on by careers or marriage. As age comes on us we find ourselves alone to deal with our emotions. Maybe we have some family who are always there for us, but where did those friends go that you thought were so close to you?
We may have grown apart, and long to have that close relationship again with someone who truly cares. Feeling alone can even happen to the most involved people. They are the ones who are able to put up a good front, but inside they feel there is no one but themselves. The truth is we are not alone.
God is real! And He has made it possible for anyone, no matter who they are or how messy their lives are, to come to Him and be touched by His love for you. God in His wonderful grace sent Jesus.
Are you ready to give up? Are you so frustrated with yourself and others and wish you could turn back the clock and start over again? Another day begins and all those frustrations are still there. You put on your best smile and head out hoping for the day to be smooth going. You call your friends only to fine them unloading all their issues onto you. You try to talk to them about your problems but they are preoccupied, even with the smallest of compassion from someone, you still find yourself back at home, alone.
God is an eternal joy that overflows from you like a beaming light. You may have felt that joy before and never realized that it was God touching you. That glimmer of joy is the pathway to Jesus and a peace that you never thought could be possible. Your best friend is not found in short term interactions with others, it is found in God who cares about every thought, every word and every action you make.
That is why He is called our "Heavenly Father." He watches over us and expects us to be guided by Him. He wants our praise and thanksgiving for the way He guides us. He makes us successful in our daily challenges. He makes it possible to feel joy for helping others.
Being stubborn does not get you anywhere fast. In most cases we are stubborn because it is the only path we know and trust. It does not have to be like that. You can let go of being so guarded and trust in God to be with you always in every situation, no matter where you are or what you are facing. It really is that easy.
You may say; "It sounds easy for you, but I am surrounded by grief and disappointment." You have to realize that God is offering you a way to have peace and happiness in a world that is confusing and filled with temptation. If you keep holding onto the easy way out, never seeking help because you are unsure about anything other than what you are comfortable with, then you are headed for disappointment and sadness.
It is as simple as talking to God. If you can trust in Him then you will get to know Jesus. And once that happens watch-out for the amazing gifts that will touch your life. You will wonder why you never took these steps before. You need to try, nothing will happen unless you talk to Him. He is there waiting to love upon you. You have ignored Him for long enough, putting your own wishes and dreams before Him.
He will be so happy that you have called and you will not be disappointed. He is all that He says He is and His promises are unfailing. Your best friend, your friend for life is right there, He has always been and always will be. His name is Jesus.
Thank you Father for Jesus. Thank you for our place in Your family. 😊

John chapter 16 verse 33.
Jesus said, "I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world."

Isaiah chapter 30 verses 16-18.
"No," Your say. "We will get our help from  Egypt; they will give us horses for riding to battle." But the only swiftness you are going to see is the swiftness of your enemies chasing you. One of them will chase a thousand of you! Five of them will scatter you until not two of you are left together. You will be like lonely trees on the distant mountain tops. Yet the Lord still waits for you to come to Him, so He can show you His love; He will conquer you to bless you, just as He said. For the Lord is faithful to His promises. Blessed are all those who wait for Him to help."

Ezekiel chapter 18 verses 31.
"Put your sinful ways behind you and receive a new heart and a new spirit."

2 Corinthians chapter 3 verse 18.
"But we Christians have no veil over their faces; we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him."
