Small steps, huge bounds

Psalms chapter 18 verses 28-31.
"You have turned on my light! The Lord my God has made my darkness turn to light. Now in Your strength I can scale any wall, attack any troop. What a God He is! How perfect in every way! All His promises prove true. He is a shield for everyone who hides behind Him. For who is God except our Lord?"

Each day we are faced with mountains to climb over. From the moment we get out of bed to the moment we lay back down we are facing trials and temptations. There are attitudes and challenges that require our upmost of focus in order to make the proper decisions.
There are failures that lead to sadness and worry. Don not let the world get you down. Be strong and trust in Jesus to be your guide in the Light of God. What is it that you have, that is your joy? Have you wants that you can't afford? Are you thankful for the air you breath and the family you have? Did you just drive somewhere and you are thankful for what you saw along the way?
What do you see around you? Maybe it is the mountain of bills. Maybe it is the challenge of something you have to face. Maybe you need a job and are frustrated from the never ending search. Maybe it is the heat of the moment argument where bad words are spoken or maybe it is the harbored hurt from past failures. The things we see and have to deal with each day can build up, blocking our sight and focusing our thoughts on how, what, why and where.
Jesus is our way to see. The mountains never go away and our failing health just adds to it. But Jesus can show you a way to see happiness in trusting God. Have you heard about the ray of light that shines through the mess? Every once a a while there is a glimpse of it and it encourages you, gives you a little bit of hope. So if you know that it is there, why not try to get to it?
Years ago when we were young, we were innocent to the ways of the world, we were happy without all the challenges that we now face.  We know we cannot go back and retrieve what was past but we can put our trust in God and let Jesus take us by the hand and lead us. We can have our innocence back by letting Jesus show us patience, love and joy.
I heard an example of holding up a small stone at arms length. You can see all that is around you and the small stone, but as you move your hand closer to your face the stone becomes larger and blocks out everything else around it. That is what Jesus can do. He can become your focus and you can trust in Him to safely guide you. Your joy is in seeing Him and Him alone.
It is only an example, because what we do see and have to deal with, is there. What God is asking you to do, is to trust in Him. Push aside all the stuff that we think is so important and ask Him to sit and talk with you. You may be the one doing all the talking, but He is listening and helping you. As you spend your time in seeking Him your mountains become smaller. You become thankful to Him and love every moment you get to spend with Him.
Your love for Him shines out in your daily living and others notice it. There may be lots to deal with, but now you are putting it all aside to spend time in His presence. You say kind things to others, You experience joy instead of defeat and battles. Life has become good.
Thank you Father for Jesus. Thank you for Your forever love. 😊
