Honoring through control and focus.

Mathew chapter 6 verses 22 and 23.
"If your eye is pure, there will be sunshine in your soul. But if your eye is clouded with evil thoughts and desires, you are in deep spiritual darkness. And oh, how deep that darkness can be!"

There is joy in forgiveness!
Mistakes do get made. People are judgmental and opinionated. So, don't be surprised when a mistake is made, how easily criticism can bring on embarrassment and defensive guards. What may start out as something you wanted to do, can easily be seen by others as greed and selfishness.
Not only will there be catty talk and gossip, but there may also be mistrust earned. Does it matter if you were the one to make the mistake or if it was someone else? If it is you then you will take the brunt of other peoples thoughts and words. If it is someone else then you are quick to make judgement, not thinking of forgiveness but of the words being spoken and your own desires.
A simple mistake is not as simple as you think. It shows your character and your lack of self control. God wants us to let go of our own desires and focus on being thankful to Him. When your heart and thoughts are in the right place then you are filled with sunshine. You are not having to defend yourself but are available to talk about God and His love for people.
The list of mistakes is too large to mention. So, lets just say that it is our own desires and thoughts that lead into doing the things that we shouldn't. God wants us to walk with Jesus and to be a representative of the life we have with Him. Our thoughts are not always going to be right, and that can lead to wrong actions and that is why God gave Jesus to humanity.
Jesus has taken all of our sins and forever forgiven them. That is the most amazing love of God and the joy that fills our thoughts with wanting to honor and give glory to God, for Jesus. When mistakes do get made, the Holy Spirit helps us see quickly the issues and make the right amends. Hopefully hurtful words can be forgiven, hopefully others are not to harsh in forming judgement, but for yourself ask God to forgive you and put your thoughts on Jesus.
It is your joy of His ultimate salvation in your life that is the sunshine in your soul. As the old saying goes, "Don't let the bad feelings harbor on you, but get up and jump back onto the bandwagon."   Take your worries to Jesus and trust in God to guide you. He will bring you that happiness, the same light that brought you out of your old life into life with Him.
Thank you Father for Jesus and helping us see the joy of being truthful in honoring You. 😊

"But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and He will give them to you if you give Him first place in your life and live as He wants you to."

"And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, and come to Him into the presence of God the Father to give Him your thanks."
