Reverence

Psalms chapter 34 verses 9 and 10.
"If you belong to the Lord, reverence Him; for everyone who do this has everything he needs. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those of us who reverence the Lord will never lack any good thing."

The Websters dictionary defines the word 'Reverence' as meaning; to have a feeling or attitude of deep respect, tinged with awe.
What is it that you reverence? Is it a parent, money or maybe personal time spent doing what you enjoy? In days of old, people feared those who held positions of authority for example; Kings, tax collectors or clergy. They wanted to follow closely and obey the rules that were set out so that they did not find themselves in trouble.
What people have found is that by obeying the laws and giving respect to those in power that they can be left alone and live in peace. That does not mean that they will not have struggles. It is not easy finding a job and being able to provide the basic necessities needed to survive. People put a lot of pressure on themselves trying to find peace and happiness.
Besides survival, there is the need to live in a world with other people. Our desires are focused on having relationships and families. And it can be tough to find the right match and maintain years of compassion and love. Divorce and hurt can cause mistrust in others, making people cautious about getting involved again. Those who know us are also affected, for example children and those closest to us.
Growing up brings on experiences that shape our lives and affect the choices that we make. Thank God that Jesus came into our world to offer us refuge and direction to follow. Go wants us to reverence Him. He wants our praise and gratitude.
There is only one way to gain someones trust, to the point where they are in awe and totally respectful. That is to prove yourself to them and that starts by reaching out believing that there is a ray of hope for you. Through Jesus we can come to know God's amazing love and grace. It is our Lord Jesus who gave His life so that ours could be saved.
Saved from what? From not having the opportunity to know the everlasting peace and love of God. By stepping away from trusting in yourself and believing that God is with you always, just as Jesus talked with God about everything, you too can know God's amazing love. It's not easy and requires a lot of patience and hope, but the outcome is far greater than you can even imagine.
God does not expect you to sit around and think that all is going to just come to you. No, you are to focus on His word and seek His guidance. You are to learn what is pleasing to God and be faithful to Him. You will find yourself renewed with an energy that wants to serve God and be thankful to Him for His wonderful grace.
Put God first in your life and you will move forward with confidence and joy in your heart. There will be trials and temptations, but do not give up, for those who reverence the Lord, never lack any good thing.
Thank you Father for Jesus. Thank you for the everlasting joy of never living anywhere else except into Your loving arms.

Ezekiel chapter 2 verse 7.
"You must give them My messages whether they listen or not (but they won't, for they are utter rebels). Listen, son of dust, to what I say to you. Don't you be a rebel too! Open your mouth and eat what I give you."

2 Chronicles chapter 6 verses 30 and 31.
Hear from heaven where You live, and forgive, and give each one whatever he deserves, for you know the hearts of all mankind. Then they will reverence You forever, and will continually walk where You tell them to go.

1 Chronicles chapter 16 verses 10 and 11.
"Glory in His name; Let all rejoice who seek the Lord."
"Seek the Lord; yes, seek His strength and seek His face untiringly."
