Squirming!
Luke chapter 18 verses 29 and 30.
"Yes," Jesus replied, "and everyone who has done as you have, leaving home, wife, brothers, parents, or children for the sake of the Kingdom of God, will be repaid many times over now, as well as receiving eternal life in the world to come."
Do you know what Jesus means when He says we need to leave everything behind that we so dearly care about?
The things we care about are the center to all of who we are. We have grown up with them and it has taken years to develop the trust and love that we have. Is Jesus asking us to let go of all we care about? and to trust in Him? Yes!
Now, we know that family and friends will not just go away. We know that the stuff we have accumulated will not just disappear. So what is this talk about letting them go? Jesus is asking us to trust in God for all our provisions and that includes our closest and most inner deepest thoughts.
You know the burdens of life that have a strangle hold on our rest and peace. The thoughts that keep us up at night. The worries and anxieties. The questions like; am I good enough? or how am I going to pay for that?
They are the thoughts that keep us entangled in this world. It would be nice if there was only one or two burdens to deal with, but that is not the case. Once we get over solving one burden, another arise and it is a continual issue until the day we die. Sometimes there are multiple burdens attacking us all at once and that leaves us feeling helpless, drained and weary.
In most cases people just want to hide and hope that they will just go away. Relationships can be stressful causing all sorts of heartaches and bitterness. When things are going good, then we are happy and content. But we all know that does not last, for as fast as our joy came, along comes something someone say's or something someone does that rubs us the wrong way.
Is there any hope? Is there any such thing as eternal peace? Yes! And it is found in Jesus! That is why He say's the things He does! That is why we have to leave what we have, to let go of the worries and anxieties and trust in Him to bring all that we are before God. Life with God is the peace and joy you have worked so hard to find.
It is not easy letting go of all we have built our lives around. Especially to believe in the hope of an unseen God or the words based on a guy who died so many years ago. But it is that trust and faithfulness that God is looking for and that Jesus wants us to have. Are you ready? Many people are not. The bible speaks of seeing clearly the Light of Jesus. That in order to see it we need to step out of the darkness.
The darkness is what we hold onto and the Light is the path on which Jesus wants us to walk with Him. Everyone around you who do not believe in Jesus will argue with you about your new found love. Your thoughts will become a battle field as you want so bad to seek the promises of God.
Letting go is not easy, but you will see a change and it will be for the better. You will feel your burdens shrink away. You will feel freedom and a peace that will be seen and enjoyed by you and others. You will see clearly God and His touch upon your life. You will see Jesus holding you close and taking every step with you.
Nothing cannot be overcome if you trust in God, follow Jesus and hold close to His word. Your life will become filled with praise and thanksgiving. Totally different than what you could have ever imagined. And God's promises are not just here today and gone tomorrow, they are forever. He is your heavenly Father and He is so glad that you have come home to Him.
Maybe someone will want to know more about what you have gone through. And maybe they too will have their own experience with Jesus. Maybe you will share your journeys and others will begin to understand. The thing is you have let go and now you are at peace, content with who you are and where your life is going. Wow! Why did I have to struggle and squirm? When living in the Light of Jesus is right there available for all.
Thank you Father for Jesus and helping us to see clearly the paths on which You want us to walk.😊
Luke chapter 18 verse 25.
Jesus told them, "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God."
Ephesians chapter 2 verses 8 and 9.
" For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not that of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works. lest anyone should boast."
Luke chapter 12 verses 14 and 15.
But Jesus replied, "Man, who made Me a judge over you to decide such things as that? Beware! Don't always be wishing for what you do not have. For real life and real living are not related to how rich we are."
