At Peace.

Jonah chapter 2 verse 9.
"I will never worship anyone but You! For how can I thank You enough for all You have done? I will surely fulfill my promises. For my deliverance come from the Lord alone."

Have you ever felt distanced from the Lord? Like you are not doing enough for Him?
Maybe a summer cold has worn you down and you are not spending the time with God that you would normally do. Maybe you are distracted by your work load of unfinished jobs. Maybe the sweltering humid temperatures are making life uncomfortable and all you want to do is cool off and rest.
These could be the trials that are there to strengthen you and your relationship with God. Jesus was tested everyday of His life and He found refuge and refreshment in spending time with God. There was never any scheduled time where Jesus was expected to come to God. God is His Father and God was always there for Him at all times, no matter what the situations of life were challenging Him with.
God is there for you, just as He is with Jesus. It is through Jesus that we are able to find our way to God. God is your heavenly Father who has sent Jesus to tell you so. There maybe times when the troubles of the world seem to distance you from God, but that does not mean He is not aware of it. He is looking for you and waiting for you to talk to Him.
Jesus came refreshed from prayer with the guidance He needed knowing that the paths He was taking were right. He had no doubt for God had shown Him the comfort and peace of taking the right steps. And Jesus, felt good. Thankful for the Holy Spirit, thankful for God walking with Him, thankful for living a life that is pleasing to God.
When you came to God and Jesus began walking with you then you became part of a family that will never leave you. The Holy Spirit will always be with you. In sickness, in relationships, in work and in aging.
Jonah struggled with the troubles of life and in the end He trusted God to deliver on His promises. There is a happiness that is so compelling that you want to be there with God trusting in Him and loving every minute of your new found life. What was once before, is now changed. You are no longer alone to deal with the challenges of life or to deal with the circumstances of making mistakes.
Once you belong to God's family and walking with Jesus then you want nothing else than to please God. You are constantly looking to Him, talking to Him and thankful for His love.
So, don't think for a moment that God will ever leave you. If life's circumstances interrupt your conversations, then just start talking to Him again. An overwhelming joy will enter your heart as You feel His Holy Spirit welcome you.
Thank you Father for Jesus and walking with us in our busy aging lives. Ever closer to You. 😊
