Our Home.

Psalms chapter 31 verse 21.
"Blessed is the Lord, for He has shown me that His never-failing love protects me like the walls of a fort!"

Disaster is inevitable. How wonderful it would be if we could be shielded from the heartaches of life. It is so sad to think how those heartaches affect us and our joy. They can harden us and make us cold to the feelings of others.
The first time you experience a loved one dying, it is hard to accept and comprehend that all the goodness and love is gone and now all that was, has to change. No matter how many people there are around you to console you, no matter how many years go by and no matter how you try to take away the sadness of missing someone, those thoughts and feelings do not go away. They seem to be there permanently. Why shouldn't they? That person was someone you knew and cared about. They were a big part of your life. But it hurts and it is hard to understand why their life had to end.
One way to look at it is, our human bodies are frail. They can die. In the blink of an eye the joy and laughter can become memories. How do we continue on when what we enjoyed is no longer there? The answer lies in the memories we have and the love we have for each other.
You soon realize that you are not the only one who has been affected and the hurt of others needs to be dealt with also. No one is saying for you to bury your feelings in order to help the others whom you care about. No, do not do that. Share your feelings. Talk about the memories and what life will be like moving forward.
God is a shelter. He is there waiting for you to enter into His gates. Waiting to listen to your sadness and questions. He wants you to know that peace and comfort is found by those who live with Him. He loves us and because of that love, we continue on in love. It is a love that comforts our own souls bringing the needed peace and happiness. It is the same love that we use to help others find their way to God.
It is hard to understand God when you do not have a relationship with Him. So far the only one you have trusted and could count on has been yourself. Family and very close friends like to listen and offer some needed advice and comfort, but as far as you can see, you need to take care of yourself for no one else is going to do it.
God does not want you to be alone in dealing with your feelings. He wants you to trust in Him. Believe in Jesus and hold close to Him. Believe that God's promises are true. Talk to Him and tell Him how you feel. Jesus never left God. He talked to Him all the time about everything. That same home is there for you. Your heavenly Father holds you close. Let Him.
Thank-you Father for Jesus and always being there, always listening and loving as You do. 😊

"If we are living in the light of God's presence, just as Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship and joy with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from every sin."
