His promises.

John chapter 6 verse 36 and 37.
Jesus replied, "But the trouble is, as I have told you before, you have not believed even though you have seen Me. But some will come to Me---those the Father has given Me---and I will never, never reject them."

You have a mission and you will see it through to the end no matter what happens along the way. Are you hoping for a good result? or are you confident in what you are doing?
What we think, is not the same as someone else and what they picture in their minds. In most cases we need to describe what we want others to see. That way we are all thinking along the same lines. However that is not always the case. There is a lack of communication, therefore there are all sorts of thoughts and ideas running around and no one seems to be heading in the right direction.
A good example is making a statement without giving to many details. This can cause a multitude of replies that are all different. There is a game that is played where a statement is made but the line is not finished. The next person is to continue from the last word written, not knowing what was written before. This leads to all sorts of funny statements being written.
We learn from experience and have knowledge of things that have been done prior to us attempting them. Yet we still make mistakes because of following our own thoughts and ideas. Jesus has always told the truth by trying to remind us that the Scriptures have talked about Him coming for years.
One of the issues about believing, is reality. How do we believe in something we cannot touch or see? There has always been the want to have hope in salvation. Maybe there is a creator of all that we see and of our bodies. Maybe the amazing stories of the bible are true and the Red Sea was parted. Maybe Gideon did stop an attack with only a handful of people. Maybe Elijah did bring a child back to life. Maybe Jesus was real and He did all the amazing miracles that are talked about in the bible.
Maybe God did give the Scriptures to people so that future generations would know of Him. Maybe God did send Jesus and maybe Jesus did rise from the dead and return to heaven where He is with God. Maybe He will return and fulfill the promises of an eternal life to those who believe He is the Son of God.
The disciples spent three years with Jesus and listened to His teachings closely and experienced His miracles first hand, yet on the day of His resurrection they were dumbfounded. They were confused as to where His body had gone. Even when He appeared to them, they still had questions.
It has been a long time since Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. It was along, long time since the first writings of Jesus coming as our Savior. Time seems to affect the focus of people and it is easy to loose sight of God.
What are you hoping for? Maybe it is as simple as someone to believe in and that you can have a focus on. Jesus is the answer and He will lead you to a life with God. God's promises have always been true and a peaceful life can be had. Amazing love can be felt and the thankfulness of joy can be forever.
Jesus suffered so that we would know God's love. Jesus said, "There are many homes up there where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am."
Thank you Father for Jesus and Your promises of life with You now and forever. 😊

John chapter 5 verses 31-34.
Jesus replied, "When I make claims about Myself they are not believed, but someone else, yes John the Baptist, is making these claims for Me too. You have gone out to listen to his preaching, and I can assure you that all he says about Me is true! But the truest witness is not from a man, though I have reminded you about John's witness so that you will believe in Me and be saved."

Luke chapter 24 verse 11 and 12.
But the story sounded like a fairy tale to the men---they did not believe it. However, Peter ran to the tomb to look. Stooping, he peered in and saw the empty linen wrappings; and then he went back home again, wondering what had happened.

1 Kings chapter 19 verse 12.
And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper."
(Through all the loudness of our life, God only has to whisper to us for He is always that close, for us to hear.)

  1. I like that you included Luke 24:11-12 here. The Bible does indeed sound like a fairy tale, like made up stories or wishful thinking. But, for me, the empty tomb was the key. The disciples weren't expecting a resurrection within history. There was really no precedent for this. And there's really good historical evidence that the tomb was empty on Easter. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. <3
