Appreciation
John chapter 11 verse 28.
"He is here and wants to see you."
How well do you appreciate being appreciated?
It makes us feel good to be appreciated by someone. Especially when they tell it directly to us. It shows they care and that what we have done is welcomed. Appreciation also works the other way too, when we say thank you to someone for something they have done for us.
Being kind and doing things for someone is one thing, but when we tell them how much we like what they do, it brings a smile and a warmth of thankfulness between two people. Saying thank you to a group of people for something they have done also shows that we are thoughtful of them.
It is nice to receive thankfulness through a gift. A small token to show how much we appreciate others. But there is nothing like saying the words that makes someone feel valued.
Feeling wanted and accepted brings security and peace. It is something we all need to feel in order to be content in our lives. Maybe you want to feel loved so bad that you are worn out, weary and tired of seeking what only ends up in disappointment. So what do you do? You can try to find it on your own by spending money on flashy things for yourself and then try to tell yourself that all is good.
Living alone is not good. Living with others around you but not acknowledging them is not good either. Doing good things for people and being appreciated by others is one thing. What we desire the most however, is to be appreciated by those who we care about and love. And when we do receive praise, don't let it go to your head, thinking you deserved it, but be humble and accept the praise with a kind thank you.
It is our appreciation that God wants. When you come to live in God's family, you will be forever appreciated and never alone. You will be forever grateful to God for Jesus and the life you now have with Him. Think about that for a moment. Everywhere you go, God is happy because you are happy. And that has an overflowing affect onto others who are around you. You are thankful to God for every breath you take, for every word spoken and His wonderful presence with you.
It is because you are in His family that you think of Him always and want others to know Him also. So you are humble and patient, filled with the willingness to serve, with a joyful heart. And if the opportunity arises then you share with others the amazing love and peace you have because God sent Jesus into your life.
The old life of trying so hard to find appreciation is tiresome and can wear you down, leaving you feeling empty. Let Jesus into your life. He is knocking and wants to meet you. He wants to be with you always, showing you how much you are appreciated and loved by God. His love for you will overflow out of you to others and they will enjoy being around you.
Thank you Father for Jesus and a life filled with thankfulness to You, to those we love and to others whom we meet. 😊
John chapter 11 verse 40.
Jesus asked her, "Did I not tell you that you will see a wonderful miracle from God if you believe?"
Psalms chapter 50 verse 23.
"True praise is a worthy sacrifice; this really honors Me. Those who walk My paths will receive salvation from the Lord."
Matthew chapter 22 verses 37-40.
Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind." This is the first and the greatest commandment. The second most important is similar; "Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself."
