Trusting
John chapter 15 verse 19.
"The world would love you if you belonged to it, but you don't---for I chose you to come out of the world and so it hates you."
When I walk our dog I put it on a leash so that he won't run away. It always seems as if he wants to walk at the full extent of the leash. It is like he wants to go further but if I allow him to have his way then he may be gone, chasing after something until he realizes he has lost sight of me and does not know where he is. So I put him on a leash that way I will not loose him. He seems to be content with that but still tugs wanting to take me where he wants to go. I do follow him and I try to change up where I take him so that he is not always going to the same area. So, I protect him and at the same time I want him to be happy.
Anything that I have seen that is tethered is always at the full extent of it's leash. If it is released then it is on it's own to go freely uncontrolled. A good example is towing a car or trailer, if it is freed then it could cause a lot of damage. How about a kite, if it is cut loose then who knows where the wind will take it?
In this world we are allowed to do whatever we want to. There may be restrictions and place we are not able to go but in most cases we make the decisions as to what happens with our lives. So, has life been good to you, by the choices you have made? It is known that not all choices are the right choices and can lead to financial or relationship issues. We learn quickly about bills and that they do not stop coming. Someone has to pay for us to have food, clothing and a shelter over our heads. Having the wisdom to pay the bills on time keeps us from falling into debt and having creditors come after your well earned paycheck. That shows responsibility and security which in turn is rewarded with healthy living. Then comes more responsibilities like family, vacations, vehicles and future planning. It can become quite easy to fall behind or get overwhelmed by all the stuff we accumulate.
With proper planning and right living, life can be enjoyable and peaceful. That is where God comes in. God sent Jesus to tell us that we do not have to struggle but that God wants us to live with Him trusting Him to guide us and keep us on the right paths. Instead of tugging at the leash and trying to get further away from all the mounting responsibilities, why not come closer to the one who is holding the leash and trust Him to keep you safe and provide all that you need. God helps those who come to Him believing that through Jesus they can know a life with Him and trust in His promises to keep them safe.
Thank-you Father for coming for me when I reached out to you. 😊
Proverbs chapter 3 verses 1 and 2.
"My Son, Never forget the things I've taught you. If you want a long and satisfying life, closely follow my instructions."
Proverbs chapter 3 verse 21.
"Have two goals: wisdom---that is knowing and doing right---and common sense. Don't let them slip away, for they fill you with living energy and are a feather in your cap."
Psalms chapter 34 verse 9 and 10.
"If you belong to the Lord reverence Him, for everyone who does this has everything he needs. Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry but those of us who reverence the Lord will never lack any good thing."
