Happiness

Philippians chapter 2 verse 5-8.
"Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ---who, though He was God, did not demand and cling to His rights as God but laid aside His mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men. And He humbled Himself even further, going so far as actually to die a criminal's death on a cross."

What does it mean to be lit up with joy? I don't mean you are always walking around smiling or being  a nuisance to people by getting in their space with silly bothersome overkill. When you pass a test at school you feel good. When you accomplish a task at work you feel energized and on top of the world. When you physically work hard you feel alive and strong. Those feelings are seen in your actions and how you speak. You are not pushing others to experience what you are feeling, you just feel good and it shows in  your confidence.
John chapter 1 tells us that Jesus is God and that eternal life is in Him and this life gives light to all mankind. His life is the light that shines through the darkness---and the darkness can never extinguish it. The light is our hope. A hope that brings us peace to us while we are alive and a hope for a life after death. Believing in God and that Jesus is His Son, gives us the same peace that Jesus had in a world that had a hard time believing in the things He spoke about. It is that peace, the peace given through Jesus that calms our lives and shows in how we speak and act.
Jesus never lost focus of being God's Son and that we too are God's children. With God's Holy Spirit living inside you, you are different from the world and the way you used to live. You are the beacon light, that holds out the Word of Life to all people. John chapter verse 1 says "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." The Word, refers to Jesus and it is His words that tell us of God and His promise's. It is those promises that Jesus has spoken of, that has changed our lives and allowed us to see His light. It is His light that shines through in us, that people see and it is His words that people hear us speak. Inside those of us, who walk with Jesus, is a celebration of joy that is so hard to contain and so easily spoken about when others inquire. Actually we are filled with a joy that longs to be shouted out and shared with everyone. Enjoy the peaceful life that Jesus brings and be alive in God's world.

John chapter 1 verse 9.
"Later on, the one who is the true Light arrived to shine on everyone coming into the world."

Philippians chapter 2 verse 15 and 16.
"You are to live clean, innocent lives as children of God in a dark world full of people who are crooked and stubborn. Shine out among them like beacon lights, holding out the Word of Life."

John chapter 15 verse 26. (Jesus speaking)
"I will send the Comforter---the Holy Spirit, the source of all truth. He will come to you from the Father and will tell you all about me."
