Tough Love

Proverbs chapter 2 verses 1-5.
"Every young man who listens to me and obeys my instructions will be given wisdom and good sense. Yes, if you want better insight and discernment and are searching for them as you would for lost money or hidden treasure, then wisdom will be given you and knowledge of God Himself, you will soon learn the importance of reverence for the Lord and of trusting Him."

My wife and I and all our families are so fortunate to be living in Southern Ontario. It is an area that is not filled with wars or famine. There are very few poisonous critters and no larger animals that could attack us. That may change with time but right now it is a safe area to live. It is not to say that there are not issues. There are great issues that cause death and struggles, so you see no matter where we do live there are battles to be fought. As I read Joshua chapter 10, I could not help but feel thankful for the life we have now and how sad it must have been to slaughter so many people and not get mixed up by what was done. Someone did something that threatened a nation and Joshua was called upon for help. In verse 6 it says "Come and help your servants!" they demanded "Come quickly and save us! For all the kings of the Amorites who live in the hills are here with their armies" In verse 8 God tells Joshua, "Don't be afraid of them, for they are already defeated! I have given them to you to destroy. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you." That is pretty brutal stuff that led to a lot of destruction. Thank God for Jesus. God knows that there will always be battles created by arguments and disagreements. When Jesus came He talked about coming to God and letting Him know your issues and to trust in Him to give you the guidance for the right words to speak that will bring people to Him.With God in your life, others around you will see Jesus stand out in how you speak and live your life. there may be war and famine, social injustice and broken hearts but the God of old is the same God today. The only difference is the love Jesus has brought. Come to Jesus and get to know God. His Holy Spirit will fill you with direction and joy that you will want to share with everyone.

Thank-you Father for sending Jesus to show us how to love life with you.  😊

Matthew chapter 5 verse 17.
"Don't misunderstand why I have come----it isn't to cancel the laws of Moses and the warnings of the prophets. No, I came to fulfill them and to make them all come true."

Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on  your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths."
