Directions

Matthew chapter 11 verse 3.
"Are you really the one we are waiting for, or shall we keep on looking?"

Everyday we take the same roads to get home. It becomes familiar territory which we trust to get us where we want to go every time. When we go visiting we trust the roads that we have traveled before but there may have been changes that we have to deal with. Or when a vacation is taken and the route is planed out heading into unknown areas. It may be far or it may be right around the corner, no matter where it is, it is not our secure place but it is new and unfamiliar to us. Handling change can be stressful on some people and to others it is an adventure. I'm the adventurous type and do not let too many things get to me, I have even got better at handling change since Jesus gave me the opportunity to come follow Him and trust His direction. There could be unending scenarios that cause us to worry but is all the worry going to change anything? No it only brings on restlessness. So enjoy the scenery along the detour and be prepared by having enough gas and maybe a snack in the car. Adjust yourself to each situation and most of all believe that God is with you. Maybe He is setting you up for the opportunity to bring Him into a conversation or to be the person who is in control and at peace when others become worried. Leaving our old lives behind, letting go of what we are used to is not easy to do and can be very uncomfortable. Jesus promises a life with light burdens where our worry is in His hands as we trust in Him to walk with us and keep us safe. It is not easy to let go of our comfort zone and those who know us and love us will also have a hard time with you wanting to step away from what you have lived with for so long. But the offer is hard to resist and it is exactly what you need. God is like, trying something for the first time and finding out it is all that you have ever wanted and now that you have it you cannot get enough of it. That is the excitement Jesus talks about and you will talk about God's love to others also, for His promises are true. Your new life will be with others who have the same excitement and maybe the people who love you the most will begin to see what you are looking at. So many new adventures lie ahead of you. Begin with the bible and get to know God. Come to Jesus and let the promises of God walk with you. You will find you were His all along and now you are safe and at peace where you belong.

Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 and 6.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.
