A gathering place.

Romans chapter 15 verse 7 and 8.
"So, warmly welcome each other into the church, just as Christ has warmly welcomed you, then God will be glorified. Remember that Jesus Christ came to show that God is true to His promises."

The bible tells of Jesus and His ministry. It speaks of how He touched the hearts of people with the words He spoke and the miracles He preformed. He spoke of being the Messiah from God, He spoke of God being His Father and the love God wanted all people to have for Him. People listened with the anticipation of hope and the promises of God to touch their lives. That same hope is still offered today and for those who trust in God they will find His promises to be true. How wonderful it would have been to see and hear Jesus speak.

In church there are those who have been going since they were young. They have stories of growing up with bible camps, going to hear evangelists speak, meeting a God loving spouse, maybe attending bible college and then serving the Lord. There are those who have heard the voice of God and left their old ways behind, now thankful for their new life. There are also those who have heard of the promises of God and have come curious to know more. Whatever the reasons people have for gathering, they are coming in hope that God's promises are true. Prayer has always been for strength and thanksgiving. God loves to hear the prayers of praise for Jesus and the salvation of life. He hears the prayers of healing and of family unity but most of all He hears the prayers for the lost, the people that do not know Him. We pray for the right words to speak that will bring others to know Jesus and the love God has all people. At church you will hear the amazing praise and joy of thanksgiving through song and the encouraging words that touch the hearts of those seeking God's promises. Church is where you will experience Jesus and fellowship with others who believe in God. It may be a building where people gather but like the hillside where Jesus spoke, people are gathering in anticipation of knowing and receiving God's love.
Thank-you Father for Jesus and the opportunity of having life with You. 😊

Matthew chapter 5 verse 1 and 2.
"As the crowds were gathering, He went up the hillside with his disciples and sat down and taught from there."

Ephesians chapter 5 verse 19.
"Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord. Always give thanks for everything to our God and Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11-13.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. When you pray, I will listen. You will find me when you seek me."
