Proper rest.
Stuck in a box? No need to worry. Enjoy the moment, for Christ is with you always.
1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 30.
For it is from God alone that you have your life through Christ Jesus. He showed us God's plan of salvation; He was the one who made us acceptable to God; He made us pure and holy and gave Himself to purchase our salvation.
Why have you come before God?
Are you seeking His help? Are you fed up and discouraged? Are you nervous, yet curious?
For most of us we live busy lives filled with issues that require us to deal with them. It is our personal lives that require the most attention. Followed by our daily living requirements.
Our personal lives are focused on love and peace. Satisfying our desires and meeting the demands of having peaceful living. Our daily living requirements are needed for survival. We have a job in order to make money and provide for our needs.
All the stuff we gather is used for maintaining what we have and our enjoyment. It is our personal lives that require our thoughts to be at rest. Satisfied with what we have and the things we do. Getting along with others requires our attention, and focus.
No one likes to feel overwhelmed, cornered into decisions or a burden to others. Yet it does happen and in most cases people do not like to show their weaknesses but hide them in anger, frustration and grief.
Psalms chapter 46 says, "God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble. And so we need not fear even if the world blows up, and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam; let the mountains tremble! There is a river of joy flowing through the City of our God---the sacred home of the god above all god's. Be still and know that I am God."
It is hard to put God into the mess of our lives. Our thoughts are so filled with anguish and despair that even the words of others advice bounce off our confusion. Burying our feelings with drugs and alcohol only prolong the ever increasing outcome. It will be in our revealing that healing happens. And even then the suffering and pain will only begin.
I like what I read today about how fast our thoughts can be moving and what it means to stop them and be still. The stuff that is consuming us is there and cannot be turned off, but Christ is also there and He will show you God.
Jesus Christ had His hands full when faced with accusations, beatings and hurled obscenities. His life was a mess, yet it was because of this that He trusted God's promises. He knew the outcome was eternal peace and satisfaction.
In John chapter 16 Jesus said, "The world will greatly rejoice over what is going to happen to Me, and you will weep. But your weeping shall suddenly be turned to joy when you see Me again."
Jesus knew what was happening to Him and He knew the outcome would be joy. It is in our challenges, trials and suffering that God sees our trust in Jesus. In order to have a life of peace, we need to give our lives over to the one who gave His life for us. Proper rest comes with being at peace. And Jesus gives us that peace in the form of wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
You have come to Him and through Him you are filled with the joy of God's love being around you all the time. You are God's child, the one He gave life to. And Christ His Son welcomes you into the family of God.
Proverbs chapter 4 verses 18-21 say, "But the good man walks along the ever-brightening light of God's favor; the dawn gives way to morning splendor, while the evil man gropes and stumbles in the dark. Listen, son of mine, to what I say. Listen carefully. Keep these thoughts ever in mind; let them penetrate deep within your heart, for they will mean real life for you, and radiant health."
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for the peace we need in order to be filled with the joy of Your love. 😊
Galatians chapter 6 verse 15.
What counts is whether we really have been changed into new and different people.
1 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 24.
But God has opened the eyes of those called to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, to see that Christ Himself is the centre of God's wise plan for their salvation.
Isaiah chapter 43 verses 7 and 8.
All who claim Me as their God will come, for I have made them for My glory; I created them. Bring them back to Me---blind as they are and deaf when I call (although they see and hear!)
