Blurted out hurtful words!

A life with Jesus is full of kindness and understanding. It is the true love of God.

James chapter 4 verse 1.
What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Is is not because there is a whole army of evil desires within you?

What is it that causes us to blurt out our thoughts rather than think of what we are going to say before we say something that may hurt others?
Is it that we think that what we are saying is sensible? So what about criticism and revenge? Our past can be at fault for a lot of the things we speak out. Finances and getting along are at the top of the list when it comes to arguments.
James goes on to say, "You want what you do not have, so you kill to get it. You long for what others have, and cannot afford it, so you start a fight to take it away from them. And yet the reason you do not have what you want is that you do not ask God for it. And even when you do ask you do not get it because your whole aim is wrong---you only want what will give you pleasure."
Speaking out before we think is usually what sparks opinions. Maybe our past does have something to do with how we react to circumstances. Maybe we have been put down and thought of as being weak. And that has caused you to become bitter, resentful, sarcastic and dominate. You want it your way so that you will be at peace with the outcome.
A life with God means that you live a life that is pleasing to Him. As He would want you to live.
In Philippians chapter 2 the apostle Paul suggests that we should agree wholeheartedly with each other, working together with one heart and mind and purpose.
He says, "Do not be selfish, do not live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Do not just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. Your attitude should be the kind that was shown by Jesus Christ, who though He was God, did not demand and cling to His rights as God, but laid aside His mighty power and glory, taking the disguise of a slave and becoming like men."
When you become a Christian you become a new and different person. In your past you would never have thought of asking God for something, but now that you belong to His family, you ask God, so that what you are doing is in line with Him.
In James chapter 3 the apostle Paul says, "The wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure and full of quiet gentleness. Then it is peace-loving and courteous. It allows discussion and is willing to yield to others; it is full of mercy and good deeds. It is wholehearted and straightforward and sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of goodness."
The only way you will know the gentle quietness of Christ is to live and abide in God. That is when you will experience His peace which is far more than the human mind can understand.
Philippians chapter 4 says, " Do not worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs and do not forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."
It is quite the contrast of just blurting out whatever it is that pops into our thoughts. Our past may have had some bitter resentful times and we may be quick to recall and respond as we did then but that does not have to be the way.
The Scriptures are our guide. They are God teaching us how live and act in a way that shows we are His children. Read the Scriptures morning and night and through out your day watch as the Holy Spirit reminds you of what you read and how it applies to your circumstances. That is when the miracle happens leaving you in awe of God and His power.
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for Your saving grace and mercies that protect us from doing the things that are not in line with a life that is pleasing to You. 😊

2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 17.
When someone becomes a new Christian he becomes a brand new person on the inside. He is not the same any more. A new life has begun!

1 Peter chapter 5 verses 8-10.
Be careful---watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart. Stand firm when he attacks. Trust the Lord; and remember that other Christians all around the world are going through these sufferings too. After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of kindness through Christ, will give you His eternal glory. He personally will come and pick you up, and set you firmly in place, and make you stronger than ever.

John chapter 14 verse 26.
Jesus said, "But when the Father sends the Comforter instead of Me---and by the Comforter I mean the Holy Spirit---He will teach you much, as well as remind you of everything I Myself have told you."
