The Cross.

Lamentations chapter 3 verses 25 and 26.
"The Lord is wonderfully good to those who wait for Him, to those who seek for Him. It is good both to hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord."

I have always had a hard time waiting for something to happen. It is the anticipation of the outcome that make me anxious and it takes all my power and strength to overcome the "want to know". Impatience can be seen the greatest, when it comes to gifts. We all want them now and when we do get them we either tear into them or put on a face of strength as it is slowly opened, all along being curious. Impatience can also be seen in frustration for not getting what we want right away. It can cause us to turn our backs on someone, all because we did not get our way. One time I wanted something so bad, thinking that what I wanted was right and nothing was going to change my mind. The only thing is it affected others and because of their response and our different views, I shunned them for many years, all because I was not getting my way. God has changed my life and now I still want things and find it hard to wait for them but I have learned to be content with what I have and what He provides for me. I smile when I think about how the Holy Spirit nudges me and says "Wait, it's coming". For example I get excited to write each morning but I also know it is important to read the word of God and to memorize scripture. Memorizing scripture has helped me be prepared with words to speak that bring honor and glory to God but also when I am impatient I can recite them as they calm my heart.

Waiting is not easy at the best of times. We get anxious for what we are waiting for. Being still and waiting patiently is even harder to do. Have you ever asked a child to stand still and keep quiet for even a moment? Are you able to stifle yourself long enough to get the prize or reach your goal? God waits patiently for everyone as He longs for people to see Him. To see His love for us. His patience was best demonstrated when He sent Jesus to tell us that we would no longer have to live frustrated, fighting our battles without Him. He is there for us and wants us to live a life where we see His love bless us. Filling our hearts with thankfulness for the success He gives us in being faithful to Him. It is at the cross where we can see the love God has for us all. People have always struggled with life and their pain and frustrations can be seen in the suffering of Jesus as He carried the cross outside the city. All of our faults and struggles ended with Christ being accepted as the final sacrifice. Our old ways can be gone by reaching out to God and thanking Him for His Son and the new life we are offered through Him.
You have waited long enough! You may be tired and weary from battling your way from one situation to the next. Now you can take a deep breath knowing a sigh of relief can be had, by coming to Jesus. You will see clearly the love God has for you as you get to know Jesus. You will still be dealing with daily living but now your focus will be on God and loving every way that He is touching your life. There will be patience and stillness that enter your heart as you experience the joy you feel for the love of God through his Son Jesus Christ.
Thank you Father for showing us that we can leave our battles at the cross and start a new life with You through Jesus.
