With God.
There is nothing like rest and being refreshed. Jesus can give you what you need and desire.
Hebrews chapter 4 verses 9-11.
So there is a full complete rest still waiting for the people of God. Christ has already entered there. He is resting from His work, just as God did after the creation. Let us do our best to go into that place of rest too, being careful not to disobey God as the children of Israel did, thus failing to get in.
Philippians chapter 3 verses 7-11.
But all these things that I once thought very worthwhile---now I have thrown them all away so that I can put my trust and hope in Christ alone. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have put aside all else, counting it worth less than nothing, in order that I can have Christ, and become one with Him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God's laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God's way of making us right with Himself depends on faith---counting on Christ alone. Now I have given up everything else---I have found it to be the only way to really know Christ and to experience the mighty power that brought Him back to life again, and to find out what it means to suffer and to die with Him. So, whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead.
Wow, that is what it means to be born again? We are dead to our old lives and alive in the fresh newness of life with Christ. From the moment Jesus was born there was a heavenly power and strength that was with Him. He suffered greatly at the hands of those who did not understand Him. He did it so that we could have life with God, just as He has.
Our first experience with Jesus can be exhilarating, filled with awe. As time passes you keep on experiencing God's hand upon your life. You know this is where you want to be and you are so thankful to God for Jesus and His mercies.
A relationship develops over time. God's miracle's happen, and you quickly realize that life around you has not changed but you have. You are experiencing God's love and a new found love for others. You are getting glimpses of who Jesus is. And you so want to live as He does, but you keep getting pulled into grief, frustration and disappointment.
You live in a world that does get to you. We have desires and are easily tempted. Our bodies are fragile and can easily be injured or become ill. We age and cannot do the things of our youthful days. God knows these things and He is just happy to see that you are trying your best to get along. He loves it that you are trusting Him. That you recognize Him as the Creator of all that you can see and touch. You see Him as your heavenly Father who formed you into who you are and gave breath into your body.
You have so much to be thankful to Him for. Is He first place in your day? Do you seek after Him and long to live a life that is pleasing to Him? God has placed His Holy Spirit in you to protect you and guide you with the right words to speak, the ability to forgive and all His wisdom to live as Jesus did.
Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10 says, "It is God Himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago He planned that we should spend these lives in helping others."
What a difference life is with God than without Him. How do you relieve your stress? What is it that you enjoy doing? Do you find pleasure in alcohol or drugs? At the time it may make you feel good, but it can lead to health problems and strained relationships. Loneliness is often a result of trying to escape reality.
God does not like to see you like that. And it will be in your time of readiness, that you look to God for the help you need to overcome the grip life without Him has upon you.
Ephesians chapter 2 starts out with, "Once you were under God's curse, doomed forever for your sins. You went along with the crowd and were just like all the others full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air, who is at work right now in the hearts of those who are against the Lord. We started out bad, being born with evil natures, and were under God's anger just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy; He loved us so much that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, He gave us back our lives again when He raised Christ from the dead---only by His undeserved favor have we been saved---and lifted us up from the grave into glory along with Christ, where we sit with Him in the heavenly realms---all because of what Christ Jesus did. And now God can always point to us as examples of how very, very rich His kindness is, as shown in all He has done for us through Jesus Christ."
Most of us do not see our lives as sinful but to put it another way. They are not agreeable with how God wants us to live. You do have that choice and when the time does come for you to ask God for help, then you will find Christ and a new life ready and waiting for you.
In Titus chapter 2 the apostle Paul says, "For the free gift of eternal salvation is now being offered to everyone; and along with this gift comes the realization that God wants us to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures and to live good, God-fearing lives day after day, looking forward to that wonderful time we have been expecting, when His glory shall be seen---the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ."
Thank You Father for Jesus. Thank You for revealing what was not being seen and understood. 😊
1 Thessalonians chapter 5 verse 8.
Let us who live in the light keep sober, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the happy hope of salvation.
1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 11 and 12.
This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life , minding your own business and doing your own work, just as we told you before. As a result, people who are not Christians will trust and respect you, and you will not need to depend on others for enough money to pay your bills.
John chapter 14 verse 23.
Jesus replied, "Because I will only reveal Myself to those who love Me and obey Me. The Father will love them too, and We will come to them and live with them."
