What you feel.
Matthew chapter 6 verses 9-13.
"Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen."
The Lord's prayer is powerful. We are recognizing God for who He is, "Our Father" and we are giving Him all the honor and glory that He deserves. We are asking Him to help us treat others with the same respect, that we expect others to treat us with. We are trusting in Him to keep us safe and to protect us from the temptations of the world. And most of all we are thanking Him for His wonderful love and home in which we live.
This prayer is usually taught to us as a night time prayer; that we speak before closing their eyes at night. It is done while kneeling next to your bed and is given as an honor to show God your respect and love.
Who is your best friend? Is it your spouse or is it someone you have known for a long time? The thing about your best friend, is the amount of joy you get from spending time with them. They are someone you will probably communicate with daily or as often as you can. You enjoy getting together with them and are not hesitant to share your feelings with. There is a bond of comfort that has developed over time, where you support each others endeavors with joyful banter. You understand each other and know what each others likes and dislikes are.
Your best friend is someone you trust and care deeply for. Maybe you even love them. And when a wrong word is spoken, then you are quick to forgive and not let feelings get hurt causing long term heartache. Your best friend is also someone who can keep you from making mistakes by talking to you straight up. You allow the conversations to happen that can only take place between those who care about your well being.
So what does the Lord's prayer and this talk about a best friend have in common? Jesus is your best friend and God as your Father is also your best friend. It is their love and joy that shines out from you and makes you who you are. It is your wonderful love for God and Jesus that others see in your actions and in your words. It is the praise songs you sing because of the confidence you have for knowing the paths that you walk on. Your life is all about trusting and loving God. Thankful for Jesus and the moment you are having now with Him, the future moments to come and also your heavenly home where you will forever be with Him.
You speak the words that are in your heart. Thanking God for His love with you always.
Thank- you Father for Jesus and Your presence in our lives, where we can always trust your guidance and call upon you. BFF. 😊
John chapter 15 verses 9-11.
Jesus replied, "I have loved you even as the Father has loved Me. Live in My love. When you obey me, You are living in My love, just as I obey My Father and live in His love. I have told you this so that you will be filled with My joy. Yes, your cup of joy will overflow!"
Acts chapter 1 verse 8.
"When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power to testify about me with great effect, to the people in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, about My death and resurrection."
1 John chapter 3 verses 23 and 24.
This is what God says we must do: "Believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another. Those who do what God says---they are living with God and He with them. We know this is true because the Holy Spirit He has given us tells us so."
